california portraits...

we just returned home from a sunny week in southern california! 30+ people under one roof! every other year my mom treats us to some wonderful place all together... you can scroll down to the next post for a few of our adventures, but i couldn't let the week go by without capturing some family portraits on the beach.

i'm tacking on a few taken by my brother's wife of their adorable SIX boys. her camera was having a "moment" so she lost her best pics but we salvaged some of them. i have so many adorable nephews!

southern california ~ capistrano beach

here are a few photos from our FUN week in sunny capistrano beach! we hit sea world and dana point, played games, surfed, swam, soaked in the sun and ate ourselves silly :) growing up we always spent a week on the beach so this was SUCH a fun opportunity to reminisce and enjoy the beautiful ocean & sand. one brother got stung by a sea ray while surfing. (he's the doctor in the family so better him than us?!?) some of my brothers play guitar so we had s'mores and sang songs. i'm already looking forward to 2012! looking like jackson hole??

the kiddos spent hours building all kinds of neat sand structures....  it was fun to watch the beach change from day to day because of the tide.  we got LOTS of rocks and kelp on our beach.

a new chapter :)

ashley is starting a new chapter of her life...  she's going to be a full-time missionary!  we took these shots right before she left so her family could cherish them while she's away.  she's an outstanding individual.  she will do a marvelous work!

the big day!

you should recognize this couple.....  they're in my slideshow and they just got married in june!  joe & ashley chose the coolwater creek ranch in meridian, idaho for their big event!  what a great place for a wedding!  it fit their personalities perfectly, too!  You may want to check it out if you live in the area!

the weather was hot & windy.  ashley's veil didn't want to cooperate but she took it all in stride and looked absolutely amazing.

trojans baseball... play ball!

one of the projects i keep really busy with is sports photography.... i love to photograph the teams my children play on especially when they're outside where the light is great! baseball is always fun to shoot. this season the trojans did awesome! great coaching & great kids make for great baseball! their season is about over but allstars is just beginning so looks like i will be shooting all summer :)

can u say WOOT WOOT! college grad ~ 2010....

wow! i have been very, very busy! sorry for the major gap here! i've got some big sports photography stuff going on, a wedding dvd, a family portrait sitting... add to that my 3 year old, 5 year old (preschool graduation), end of school for a high school kiddo, middle schooler, a fun weekend in mccall, and it just doesn't leave ANY time to hang out on the computer!


i'm finally ready to introduce mr. darren - college graduate!! fortunately we took his portraits before it started pouring rain the last few weeks.

darren just graduated from BSU! we had lots of fun running around the boise depot. he was a good sport and laughed at all of my jokes :) he didn't even roll his eyes when i stopped to take some photos of a very weird large bird to show my kids later! we were hoping to get some pics on the tracks, but there's an interesting construction project going on down there... not too picturesque unfortunately. his family happens to be the very first ones who were brave enough to let me take their portraits when i first started out a few years back! (brave souls!) congratulations darren! he's brilliant!
