the C family....
this shoot was ALL about the GRANDBABY.... it's fun for me to see families come together - and this was a special occasion with a grandbaby to spoil! he wasn't too sure about the camera and all the fuss but SOOOOOOOO darn cute.

the sherle family
well this little session wraps up my work for 2011. it has been a great year! thank you for following my blog. this fall was certainly my busiest!
the thought that kept coming to my mind over and over as i met with so many families was this:
families matter! some are small, some are big, some blended or non-traditional. each and every family matters. this was confirmed to me every single time i watched the effort, time & sometimes DRAMA parents went through to capture memories together with their family. time passes much too quickly. it really has been inspiring and magical for me to take part in creating these memories!
Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family: Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.

the stanger family
this session was sooooooo fun for me! i knew stangers back in college and newlywed days (when their oldest was a BABY) and i can hardly believe how grown up and stunning their four daughters are! PLUS they have a son-in-law now. won't be long before my friends are grandparents. now that makes me smile :) i grew up with four brothers then finally (14 years later) got a sister. i think it's really neat that these four girls have each other to share their lives with.
we did encounter QUITE the windy afternoon so we tried to hide behind structures. they really were such happy subjects and i think we captured the magic you only find in loving families.

THE FULLMER FAMILY........... 37 in all!
so HERE is that BIG FAMILY PORTRAIT I SAVED FOR AFTER CHRISTMAS..... (finally adding in April 2011)
this photo session came complete with thirty seven people...... but you'll have to wait until after to christmas to see the BIG FAMILY PORTRAIT. it's a present for the beautiful mother of many of the people in these portraits! (lady in red in this first shot - featured there with all of her grandkids) she should be very proud of the whole GROUP :)
every time i do a family session i am reminded of the amazing and miraculous thing the family unit is. it is truly inspiring to me! i think that's why i always look forward to this time of the year when i get to capture so many wonderful family portraits.
by the way, you guys were awesome! hopefully you felt it was a fairly painless process :) stay tuned for the big group!
we met gabe & toni before we even moved into our house! they were expecting these adorable twins who are FIVE now. we've been lucky to live around the corner from them ever since. we got some great shots of their family after the BIG shoot finished.... thank you toni for letting me photograph your whole family!
of course everybody loves eagle island and it is becoming a huge challenge to try to post original shots. hopefully you're not tired of some of the fun textures & colors found down there. you'll see a lot more of it in future posts. VERY popular spot.
